FAMILY, FRIENDS AND CARERS Community OT recognise that family, friends and carers are of equal importance when supporting those who are in need - After all, you are the people there when we are not! You do a lot, often with little to no support. Community OT provides support and advice for all of the questions you have in regard to all aspects of your caring roles. Q: Where do I start?! We take a person centred approach - to you, first. We will look into your responsibilities,your health and social situation,what's expected of you,and what you expect from yourself Q: Have I missed anything? In regard to advice, we go through all the information you have and need, with a fine tooth comb. We can and will, contact external services to ensure you, your friends and your family, have the best available care and support. Q: This doesn’t feel right! We recognise how anxiety-provoking it is to have someone you care about needing support.Sometimes we just need someone to run things through with to ‘get a load off our chests’ With this in mind, we offer time to do just that - and provide guidance and refer to external services when and if needed!
